Mark is a founding partner of NorthLanding Financial Partners, LLC and currently serves as its Managing Partner/CFO. Mark’s practice centers around providing financial planning and investment management solutions to individuals, in addition to providing strategic solutions to business clientele regarding their qualified retirement plans and business succession planning.
Mark has held the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM Practitioner designation since 2008. Mark also recently obtained the CHARTERED RETIREMENT PLAN SPECIALIST certification in 2017. Prior to forming NorthLanding Financial Partners LLC, Mark successfully ran North Landing Financial from 2005-2013, was a registered representative of New England Financial in Pittsford, New York, from 2002-2005, and a registered representative of Kinetics Asset Management in White Plains, New York, from 2001-2002.
Mark graduated with a B.S. in Applied Economics from Cornell University in 2001, and earned his M.B.A. in 2006 from St. John Fisher College, where he currently teaches as an adjunct professor in their business school.
Mark was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Wall Street Financial Group in 2009, earned the Society of Financial Services Professionals 40 Under 40 Leadership Award in 2012 and made the Million Dollar Round Table from 2008-2010. He is a member of the Society of Financial Services Professionals, the Financial Planning Association of Upstate New York, the Cornell Club of Rochester and volunteers with Junior Achievement of Rochester.
Mark resides in Penfield with his wife Jessica, daughter Cara and son Ryan and enjoys reading, running, and playing golf.
Rob is a founding Partner of NorthLanding Financial Partners, LLC. In addition to serving as the firm's Chief Investment Officer, his practice extends to fee-based financial planning and investment management for a select number of high net worth individuals and families.
His clients depend on his oversight for personal, objective advice on investment allocation, retirement income planning, estate planning, and tax-related matters. The knowledgeable approach he guides clients with has been developed and refined over his 20 years of advisory experience. He began his career as a retirement planning specialist with Morgan Stanley Wealth Management in 1998, and still today, counts himself privileged to have completed his training in the firm's World Trade Center, South Tower offices. Before founding NorthLanding, he also served as an advisor with an independent fee-based financial planning firm where he earned the Certified Financial Planner™ Practitioner (CFP®) designation. He has appeared on 13 WHAM News, locally, and been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, nationally, on investment and financial planning issues. Rob is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association (IMCA), Estate Planning Council of Rochester, Financial Planning Association (FPA) and was invited to join Morningstar's National Advisor Research Panel in 2015.
Rob completed the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) curriculum through the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business executive education program and is proud alumnus of Villanova University. He also remains involved with his local alma mater, McQuaid Jesuit High School and resides with his family in Victor, NY.
Scott has held his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner designation since 1994. He is also a CERTIFIED COLLEGE PLANNING SPECIALIST along with a CERTIFIED DIVORCE FINANCIAL ANALYST. Scott is a founding partner of NorthLanding Financial Partners, an independent registered investment advisory firm, established in 2013. Scott has been offering financial planning advice to Rochesterians since 1987. After a successful career at Marine Midland Bank and CitiGroup, he founded and served as the registered principal of Rochester Financial Management. Scott then was appointed the managing director of Sage Rutty and Company, a Registered Investment Advisory and comprehensive financial services firm, where he managed 25 investment advisors who in turn managed over $1 billion. Scott has also been a member of The Strategic Coach Program ® for over ten years, where he is currently enrolled in their master’s program. He is also a member of the Rochester Chapter of Young Entrepreneurs’ Organization. A regular lecturer and teacher of college level courses on financial planning and investment strategy, he is often quoted in financial planning publications and has been featured as a local financial planning expert on local television, The Rochester Business Journal and Democrat and Chronicle.
Scott is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA).
An avid hiker, Scott has an intrinsic passion for setting his sights on a summit and then planning each step to get there, like his objective for his clients. He is currently in pursuit of the prestigious “46er Club” whose members share the goal of reaching the summit of all the 46 high peaks in the Adirondacks. Scott resides in Penfield with his wife Laurie and sons Joshua, Jared and Jordan.
A founding partner of NorthLanding Financial Partners, LLC and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Practitioner, Bryce provides fee-based planning using NorthLanding’s Financial Clarity Advantage process to executives working for major local corporations including Xerox, Wegmans and Eastman Kodak. He serves as NorthLanding’s Chief Operations Officer, where he oversees the development of the firm’s infrastructure with the betterment of our clients always on his mind. In addition, Bryce leads NorthLanding’s Xerox Retirement Services program and presents planning strategies tailored specifically to Xerox employees and retirees at our monthly workshops. Throughout his relationship with his clients, he delivers action-oriented advice to assist with achieving their most important financial goals. He grew up in Plattsburgh, New York and graduated from SUNY Potsdam in 2006.
Since moving to Rochester in 2007, Bryce has developed strong roots in the area and currently lives with his wife in Pittsford. Outside of the office, he has three dogs and enjoys planning tennis, racquetball and traveling.
Eric is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner with more than 20 years of experience advising clients. His practice focuses on issues of pre and post-retirement investment management, income, and estate distribution planning for individuals and families. In addition to holding the CFP® certification, Eric is a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), credentials that are instrumental in his application of the comprehensive financial planning process he uses with his clientele. He is an alumnus of Colgate University and McQuaid Jesuit High School.
Eric resides in Penfield, New York with his family.
Mike serves as a T.R.U.E. Financial Guide for individuals and businesses as an Accredited Wealth Management AdvisorSM at NorthLanding Financial Partners. His personal practice is focused on investment management and financial planning for current and former Eastman Kodak employees, and he worked alongside former Kodak benefit counselors as an advisor at his prior firm. Mike resides in Hilton, New York, with his wife and two children. He is an active member at Hope Lutheran Church in Greece, New York.
An Associate Financial Advisor at NorthLanding Financial Partners, LLC since 2017, Zach’s practice focuses on fee-based financial planning and investment management for individuals and families using NorthLanding’s Financial Clarity Advantage process. Over the last seven years, he has acquired substantial experience in many aspects of investment management and financial planning. First, at his alma mater, Alfred University, Zach was selected to serve on the Student Managed Investment Fund which manages a portion of the University’s endowment fund. His planning and investment practice began shortly after graduation with a private investment advisory firm in Rochester, where he served in an advisor and portfolio manager capacity, assisting in the management of the firm’s proprietary investment strategies.
Zach is involved with the Board of Directors for ROCovery Fitness, a charity who helps people battle addiction and achieve a better life through fitness. Born and raised in the Rochester community, he grew up in the town of Greece and resides in West Irondequoit with his wife Mariah.
Stephanie serves a critical role in client service and communication. She supports both Scott Klatt and Mark Jones in day-to-day operations and client service as well as backup support to the firm’s clients at large, ranging from distribution requests, scheduling and preparing analytical reports for meetings and handling client needs as they arise. Stephanie also provides direct support to the firm’s operations in developments that affect client privacy protection and compliance policies as well as prepares analytical reports that are integral to both NLFP’s registration and annual licensing as a Registered Investment Adviser with the Securities Exchange Commission. In 2016 she obtained the Investment Adviser Certified Compliance Professional (IACCP®) designation. Stephanie's role within NLFP’s compliance team is critical to protecting the firm, as well as the firm's clients and advisors. Before joining NLFP, she received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from SUNY Oswego and spent seven years as an auditor and Quality Administrator with Superior Group, Inc.
A native of the Finger Lakes, Stephanie enjoys spending time on Cayuga Lake away from the office. She resides in Fairport, New York, with her husband and their two daughters.
Jesslin joined NorthLanding Financial Partners, LLC in 2018 with four years of experience in the Financial Industry. She supports the day-to-day activities and client servicing needs of two of the firm's Partners, Rob Bradley and Bryce Carey, handling requests ranging from scheduling client meetings, account distributions, and preparing analytical reports. In addition, she provides vital support to the investment operations of the firm's Core Model Portfolios including performance reporting, re-balancing and preparing global diagnostic reports that are critical to our investment management team.
After earning her Bachelors of Science degree from SUNY Oswego, she went on to obtain the New York State Department of Financial Services Life, Accident & Health license to expand her ability to serve clients. She is also a licensed investment associate of the firm, completing the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination) in 2016.
Outside of work, Jess most enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She also counts swimming, music, reading, traveling and spending time in the sunshine as her favorite activities.
Sara joined NorthLanding Financial Partners, LLC in May of 2014 bringing with her a decade of client services experience. Serving as the link between clients and Eric M. Garsin, CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®, she is principally responsible for client support, preparing reports for review meetings and scheduling appointments.
Sara graduated from the State University of New York at Cortland, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics & Sports Management.
Outside of work, Sara dedicates her life to her family and enjoys interests that include travel, music, and sporting events. She’s involved in her community as a member of the St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church Parish Council, St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church Finance Council, St. Mary’s School Parent Teacher Organization and Treasurer for the Marcus Whitman Junior Wildcats Youth Football Team.
Danielle joined NorthLanding Financial Partners, LLC with three years of administrative experience and now serves as our director of first impressions while assisting the firm in a wide variety of business initiatives. At NLFP, her duties range from scheduling office meetings and greeting clients to ensuring various operational aspects of the firm run smoothly. In addition, Danielle also serves as our special events coordinator for group client events and seminars. The Finger Lakes native earned her bachelor’s degree from William Smith College, majoring in media & society with a minor in sociology.
Outside of work, Danielle enjoys reading, hiking and spending time with her family in Ithaca, New York.
Darren has served as a consultant to NorthLanding Financial Partners Investment Direction Committee (IDC) since 2014. His private consulting experience includes portfolio management, asset allocation, performance attribution, portfolio rebalancing and investment asset selection with a focus on index funds. In addition, Darren has successfully passed exams covering all three levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) curriculum, which includes extensive topics in economics, financial reporting and analysis, derivatives, equity, fixed income and alternative investments. He also has broad experience in real estate management and has provided detailed analyses for the management, valuation, risk assessments and monetization strategies for commercial, residential and retail properties.
Darren is an active member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Society of Pittsburgh, where he serves on both the Endowments and Foundations Conference Committee and the Financial Literacy Committee. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and a Master of Public Administration with a specialization in Public Policy Analysis from the University of Pittsburgh.
